Discover What’s Possible
“The use of traveling is to regulate imagination by reality, and instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are.” – Samuel Johnson
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to travel and study abroad? Or would the potential cost and time turn your daydream into a nightmare? While some people may spend upwards of $20,000 for a semester abroad, that figure is out of reach for many students. However, there’s another option where one can spend less time and less money, and still obtain the benefits of studying and traveling abroad.
Students from George Mason University and Guilford College in North Carolina recently spent two weeks traveling to Germany, Switzerland, and France to participate in LanCon’s European Model of Sport. Students paid $2,750 for the 10-day program, which included breakfasts, a group lunch, and one group dinner, as well as all visits, lectures, activities, and workshops (airfare not included). Transportation costs to all venues were also included as was the invaluable services of the host, Tonok Bwefar, a seasoned veteran with LanCon, who speaks multiple languages and is an expert on world travel.
“The European Model of Sport is a custom-designed program that takes students on a seminar through Europe in a safe and comfortable learning environment,” according to LanCon’s website. “Our world-class faculty with members from respected and diverse organizations in sports provides the students with the latest academic knowledge.”
