Partners help bring Burleson’s special-needs soccer clinic to fruition
Texas-based Burleson Parks and Recreation’s vision is to support a vibrant and healthy community by providing everyone with opportunities to learn, grow, and play. As talks began about coordinating the department’s first special-needs soccer clinic, leaders wanted to remain true to this goal.
Every year, staff members gather to figure out programming gaps. They also ask the questions “Who are we not serving?” and “Where are our gaps?” on an almost seasonal basis. This ongoing reflection has sparked a conversation about a soccer-focused, special-needs program.
